Chrisitan Bale, Goyer and Nolan on Batman 3

" let's wait and see...I would, knowing the Dark Knight story, I would like very much to complete a trilogy. And I think that knowing the story of The Dark Knight, it leaves you anticipating something that really can get very, very interesting for a third. Now, the question would be: Is Chris [Nolan] going to be doing it? Because to me I find it tricky to imagine working on it without it being a collaboration with Chris." - Bale

"I'm clueless right now," laughed director Christopher Nolan. "All I can think about is taking a vacation — for a month!" - Nolan

Goyer said fans shouldn't expect anything to be a given. He has 70 years' worth of villains to choose from, and he's going to take his time thinking about it.

"Chris [Nolan] didn't even call me for three months after the last one," Goyer said.

"I think there's plenty of characters we could use if we were to do another film. We used Ra's al Ghul and the Scarecrow in the first one, 'Batman Begins,' and that worked just fine. We'll be fine." - Goyer

Batman 3? Will there be a Batman 3 (three)?Nolan Not Positive About 3rd Batman Movie

Bat-director Chris Nolan was accosted by the LA Times after the Scream awards and told them that he wasn't too hot on a Batman 3.
When asked what the possibility of him NOT making Batman 3, Nolan said...

"Well ... let me think how to put this. There are two things to be said. One is the emphasis on story. What’s the story? Is there a story that’s going to keep me emotionally invested for the couple of years that it will take to make another one? That’s the overriding question. On a more superficial level, I have to ask the question: How many good third movies in a franchise can people name? [Laughs.] At the same time, in taking on the second one, we had the challenge of trying to make a great second movie, and there haven't been too many of those either. It’s all about the story really. If the story is there, everything is possible. I hope that was a suitably slippery answer."

While scripter David Goyer debunked many of the “Batman 3″ rumors that have shown up online, there are still many questions about a potential sequel that are on the minds of the fans. One can only hope we will get some solid news soon.
